Welcome Blog
Kia Ora e te Whānau and welcome to Neuro Sense.
We hope that those who are neurodiverse, those with a loved one who is neurodiverse, and professionals supporting people who are feel inspired by our vision.
Our vision to see improved accessibility for the neurodiverse, integration of sensory interventions into everyday life and a heightened awareness around the connection between how and when to use a sensory product, tool or intervention to find calm and focus.
We are launching this business based on our own experiences through our work and our home life. We have seen first hand the desire to access sensory solutions that are more subtle and found many of the products and companies currently focus on children.
We want to solely focus on products that are suitable for adults and those transitioning to adulthood (adolescent’s) that can be utilised in everyday life and be subtle enough that they don’t draw alot of attention.
It is also our desire to see the purposeful use of products, build the self-awareness of how and when to use them, to gain optimal benefits and independence in everyday situations. This could be to regulate oneself to find focus or to manage anxiety or distress to find calm. This is useful in many situations from the workplace, to the waiting room, and even to the court room.
Although we want to focus on those who are neurodiverse, as this is our passion we also see sensory interventions useful for many others. Such as those who have experienced trauma or have ongoing mental health difficulties such as anxiety and depression.
As I embark on my own journey completing a Masters of Occupational Therapy, with the intention of expanding my own knowledge of best practice around sensory interventions for the neurodiverse I hope to bring others on this journey with me.
Keep an eye on our blog and social media for updates, I will be excited to share with you what I have learned. As I am empowered with knowledge, I hope you are too.
We look forward to also sharing about our start-up business journey especially the design, selection and manufacturing of sensory products.
We would love to hear from you if you have an idea of a sensory solution that would work for you, that you just can’t find. We would love to pioneer, innovate and dream with you. That to me is the super power of the neurodiverse.
